Stephen Hawking: In 50 Years We’ll Be Living On The Moon

By Aglaia Staff

I can just imagine the ads.

One-hundred-twenty-year-old Richard Branson would like you to be one of the first to live in the Virgin Moon Residences.

There will be three Virgin Galactic (or perhaps Virgin Lunartic) flights there daily and the residences will be all-inclusive properties with the option of timeshares. They will even have their own mayor: a still-gray Newt Gingrich.

Is my brain suddenly marble-free? No, I’ve been reading the latest predictions from Stephen Hawking.

As the Daily Mail reports, the famed physicist was speaking Sunday night on UK TV in a program called “Live From Space”. His predictions were optimistic, in a pessimistic sort of way.

He said: “Our planet is an old world, threatened with an ever-expanding population and finite resources. We must anticipate these threats and have a plan B.”

Plan B is really Plan M. He said: “Within 50 years, I have no doubt there will be settlements on the moon.”

This view rather echoes that of Newt Gingrich.

When trying to show he was far more progressive than Mitt Romney during the 2012 Republican nomination contest, Gingrich suggested there would be a moon colony during the second term of his presidency.

Some might think this was looking at progress through rose-tinted Google Glass.

I can’t imagine life on the moon being all that much fun. Indeed, Sandra Bullock didn’t seem to have too much entertainment merely floating in space.

If living on the moon will be our only option because, as Hawking suggested, the Earth doesn’t have the resources for so many humans, the life of the future doesn’t seem too attractive.

Moreover, it’s still unresolved whether other beings might be living on the moon or wishing us ill. It was Hawking himself who warned not too long ago that aliens might hate us and feel ill-disposed toward our dissolute ways.

Technology surely has to make rapid advances for humanity to adjust to any new world. Still, Hawking believes that this century will be “the true Space Age.”

What might this entail? Hawking said: “By the end of the century, I truly hope humans will be living on Mars.”

I truly hope humans have the best of luck with that.

Google Maps Find Alien ‘Spaceship’ On Moon

By Aglaia Staff

Aliens on Moon? A mysterious triangular wedge-shaped object which looks somewhat like an alien ‘spaceship’ has been spotted on the Moon by Google maps.

The controversial images appear to show the object with a row of seven light dots along the edge, and many UFO sites have reportedly likened the object to an alien spaceship.

The two-sided object on the lunar surface was discovered by a paranormal researcher, identified as WowForReel, who posted a video of the finding online,’Metro.co.uk’ reported.

“It’s unique and unusual in the area,” said WowForReel.

“After going there on Google Moon and staring at this thing for quite a long time I can say yes, it is really there, not faked and I have no clue what it is,” he said in the YouTube video description.

The gigantic shape actually looks like the leading edge of an immense, triangular space ship, similar to super secret Stealth aircraft technology, according to Techandgadgetnews.

However, it is much larger than any airplane ever built on Earth, it said.

India Smacks The United States

By Aglaia Staff

Furious with the US for the arrest and alleged strip search of its high-ranking diplomat Devyani Khobragade, India today retaliated with a slew of measures to pare down the privileges of American diplomats.

US diplomats in consulates across India have been asked to surrender identity cards issued to them and their families, which entitle them to special privileges. India has also withdrawn all airport passes for consulates and import clearances for the embassy.

The Delhi police removed barricades outside the sprawling US embassy in the capital.

Ms Khobragade was subjected to a humiliating strip search and was kept in a cell with drug addicts after her arrest for alleged visa fraud in New York last week.

Noel Clay, a spokesperson for the US State Department, told NDTV that standard procedures had been followed during Ms Khobragade’s arrest.

The US has implied that she enjoyed only limited immunity.

As part of its reciprocal measures, India is asking for details like salaries paid to Indian staff employed in US consulates, including those working as domestic helps with the families of American officials.

New Delhi has also asked for the visa details of all teachers at US schools, details of their salary and their bank accounts.

Senior leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi have refused to meet a visiting US Congress delegation. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon and Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar had also cancelled their meetings with the Americans.
